RON BURKHARDT RETURNS TO THE HAMPTONS

I Like It I Don't Like It
After 3 years of exhibitions and awards in Europe, Brazil, California, Chicago, Palm Beach and Miami, Ron Burkhardt returned to the Hamptons for a one-man show of his Notism genre of abstract contemporary art at Peter Marcelle's Hampton Road Gallery in Southampton. Despite the fact that there were a half dozen major glittering galas the same evening, Burkhardt’s show drew over 300 of the East End’s most prominent art connoisseurs and legions of fans to this stunning exhibition of provocative new works. Burkhardt is the founder of the Notism abstract art movement, evolved hieroglyphics that form a unique visual record as he documents personal histories. In seeking to preserve intimate human writing, his primal work explores the power of words, symbols and language, and confronts the frenetic, multi-tasking overload of modern society.Touted on NBC as "the newest form of art out there," and by art critic/curator Peter Frank as "an art form whose inexactude is a crucial part of its beauty...with an impressive pedigree. Miro, Klee, Cy Twombly, Basquiat and Jean Dubuffet could all have been "notists" as it were..."Burkhardt has been honored with 30 shows in the past six years and featured on NBC-TV. Details about his work may be found on HERE.

  • Ron Burkhardt is finally getting the notice and acclaim that he deserves as a FORCE MAJEURE in the world of Abstract Expressionist art. He has received accolades from artists, collectors, and world-renown critics, one of whom likened his works to early Rauschenberg and the Dada Movement. I don't know where he has been hiding, but I am glad he's BACK, and I hope to be seeing a lot more of him and his EDGY, ORGANIC art....

  • What a great article on Ron Burkhardt! I live in Texas, and recently saw a piece of his work at a charity auction for the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra. I love the colors and 'free-easiness' of his paintings, and I purchased one last month berore this show. I'm so glad I did! My advice - make NOTE of this incredible artist! Good luck, RON! Best, Cheryl C. *
